So, I’ve been addicted with looking at the pages of people’s “Wreck This Journal” projects. You should google them, they’re really awesome. =) I kind of really want one, despite my aversion to anything unhygienic ((some of the pages ask for you to lick them and stain them and… yeah. ew.)) I figure I could think of some way to do the tasks without grossing myself out – covering the pages in sticky backed plastic after they’re done, maybe? We shall see. My birthday is in less than a month now, and I’ve added the book to my wish list. =) If I don’t get it then I’ll use whatever money I get to buy one. =D

I’m actually getting kind of excited about being eighteen now. I mean, the idea of responsibility is still… y’know… terrifying, but I’m realising that I’ve got so many projects that should be fun to complete this year. The above journal being one of them, I’m desperate to go and see Avenue Q and Legally Blonde in London before the end of October, and I’m determined to participate in, and hopefully succeed in Nanowrimo this year. Granted, not the best year to decide this considering November is the month we have to send out our university applications, but eh, I can get those done early.

I’ve been on a real cake making kick lately, too. I designed my birthday cake this morning; my mother is going to make it for me because she is awesome and super talented. It has three tiers, so I kind of feel bad in case it’s too much work, but she says it’s fine. My parents are more excited about my party than me, I think. They keep saying I’m only eighteen once so they’re trying to make it really special and exciting. I love them for it but I don’t really want them wasting their money. :/ I’ll have to think of something to do as a thank you for them. =3

So, I figured I had better write something since that Doctor Who review is outdated now, to say the least. I’m also thinking about doing BEDA but knowing my track record with blogging I don’t know how long it will last. Still, it seems highly appropriate considering this is the last month that I am seventeen. It’s a very scary thought. I don’t want to be eighteen. I’m supposed to start becoming a functional adult… ick.

I’m going to try and keep these blogs brief, so here’s what’s happening in my life lately:

Party planning for my birthday party on the 21st. – Anyone have any suggestions for music for a mad hatter themed one?

Reading “The Vampire Lestat” – I prefer it to Interview with the Vampire, writing wise. It’s a good book. =)

Writing a story about changelings. Epic fun. I’ve not got much, so I can’t really talk about it…. yeah.

Watching Futurama. It’s entertaining.

Trying to plan another trip to London to see Avenue Q. Not so entertaining. More like hideously stressful.

And that’s it, really. =) I’ll expand on some of those points later on? That’s all for now!

Heehee, I wonder how long I’ll be able to keep this Saturday blog thing up? Three weeks in a row. Whoop whoop.

Um… How can I make this blog interesting? I woke up, and read some of Looking for Alaska, by John Green, which I am currently reading. It’s a good book, I’d recommend it to anyone who hasn’t already read it.

After that I went shopping with my parents, and got lots of wallpaper for me to use in my D&T coursework. D&T being the bane of my existance at the moment, of course. But oh well, I’ve got to catch up. Especially as I want an A in A/S – that’s my predicted grade, and I’d feel so useless if I didn’t reach it. I don’t think I’ve ever missed my predicted grade before. :/ I’ve got SO much to catch up on though. Gah.

By this time, I was getting pretty hungry as I hadn’t eaten since breakfast, so we stopped into Morrisons to buy something to eat – I got one of those deli takeaway thingies they sell… salad bar thing… whatever you call it. Lots and lots of pasta, some lettuce, and some chicken. Nom nom. And strawberry flavoured water as a drink. We also bought a few other things, including the Labyrinth on DVD.

I ate my food in the car, and we drove around looking for houses for sale. Unfortunately, we didn’t find out dream home tonight. xD

And now we’ve just finished watching the Labyrinth. I love that film. It’s a classic, no? Dance magic dance, jump magic jump. Haha, it’s epic awesome. They had the Neverending Story in Morrisons as well, but I already have that, so I didn’t buy it. Might have to watch it tomorrow. =)

I also thing I’ve eaten my body weight in popcorn, but it’s all good. Yummy.

Currently feeling a little more positive, definitely wasn’t this morning though!

Thanks for reading. xx.

So, last night I attempted to edit my blog a little, because the theme was still set onto the default database theme. Now, I know absolutely nothing about wordpress themes at all, so I figured I would hunt through their handy dandy collection and choose a premade skin until I learnt how to make them. That’s what they’re there for, right? Anyway, I located the skin I wanted, clicked install, and *legasp* – All of my widgets had disappeared! Instead, there sat the theme’s defaults. This set me back a few, because I had just added a text widget of all of my links, and even though it hadn’t taken long, it would be frustrating to code them all again.

But still, I did so, and dragged it back into the sidebar, clicked save, the usual. But it still wasn’t showing up on the main page. Baffled, I clicked the title on my website, leading me to the /blog section of the website, rather than the overall index page… and on there, my sidebar looked fine. I hovered over the links and noticed that I had miscoded them slightly, and so I went back and edited them, and saved again. They still didn’t show on the index page, and the codes were still messed up on the blog directory. But I clicked a random link in the archive calendar, and everything was fine on that page. :S

It was at this point that I went to bed, and now, the day after, my widgets still aren’t showing on the index page, all of my widgets are showing except for the links ((correctly coded or not)) on the blog directory, and everything is fine once you follow the archive link. I’ve tried deleting my cookies and that didn’t work, I’ve tried resaving all of the widgets and that didn’t work, I don’t know what else to do. I don’t think it’s a wordpress problem, because they would have received some sort of complaint and fixed it eons ago… So it must be something I’m doing, but I have no idea what it is.

Ah well, I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually.

Anyway, it snowed again. 2010 seems to be a year of blizzards so far. Last night the snow was really heavy, as well, it started snowing at around four in the afternoon, and by ten past the edges of the road were covered – I went to bed at around one in the morning, and it hadn’t slowed down at all. It took my dad two hours to get home from work when it usually only takes him quarter of an hour. It saddens me though, that those nutters who still tried to get to work this morning have caused the road to clear a little. The edges are still full, but there are two reasonably sized tracks down the middle where the average tyre marks have been. I know it’s being greedy to want so much time off school, especially when other people have exams, but I’m just so much happier sat in my house. xD

I think I’m going to go and build another snowman with my nieces later. I think I mentioned the one from last week that was more of a mound than a snowman. Today we plan to make one that rivals the likes of Arnold Snowmanegger down the road. We’re going the whole hog, although I have no idea what the snowman will be called. Hmm…

I also finished New Moan – the Twilight parody. It was pretty hilarious. Best names in the book go to Joe Cahontas, Wanda Mensional and Winona Arizona. I think I’m going to finish Frankenstein and Dorian Gray next, seeing as I have to write an essay on them, after all. xD
