Got another day off of school, and tomorrow, and had a pretty fun day. Basically all I did was take the dog for a walk twice – once with my mother and once with my father – but I took lots and lots of pictures.

A wooden post. xD

Click the thumbnail to go to my Flickr and see the rest. =)

I’ve got tomorrow off school – I feel so greedy! But at least I can use these images for my Art coursework. :D Sort of productive, no?

Titch ((my dog)) is so funny in the snow. He likes to eat it, but only if you throw it as a snowball first, if he catches it then he’ll munch it all, but if it lands on the ground and splatters he just gets really confused as to where it’s gone. He has no idea how they appear either, and when you lean down to gather the snow he runs over and looks around as if he expects to see one fully formed on the ground. =) He loves it, bless him. Especially when the snow is deep, he’s only a little dog, so he ends up bounding around in it and getting soaking wet… But it’s an adventure for him, isn’t it? xD

Our snowman from yesterday has already been kicked over by some yobs. =( He’s actually got a footprint on him, bless. It’s a left footprint though, so we have some clues as to who the snowmanicidal maniac was. That snowman still doesn’t have a name. I’m thinking about calling him Chip, though. Why not?

It’s forecast rain on Saturday. =( So all the snow will be gone. Sad times.

I’m going to a birthday gathering tomorrow though – chinese food, although I’ll probably be sticking to chips, rice and chicken balls. I’m really picky with my food, and not brave enough to try new things.

Blogs Stress Me Out http://blueberry-bubble.net/blog/2010/01/13/blogs-stress-me-out/ http://blueberry-bubble.net/blog/2010/01/13/blogs-stress-me-out/#comments Wed, 13 Jan 2010 12:22:29 +0000 Administrator http://blueberry-bubble.net/blog/?p=14 So, last night I attempted to edit my blog a little, because the theme was still set onto the default database theme. Now, I know absolutely nothing about wordpress themes at all, so I figured I would hunt through their handy dandy collection and choose a premade skin until I learnt how to make them. That’s what they’re there for, right? Anyway, I located the skin I wanted, clicked install, and *legasp* – All of my widgets had disappeared! Instead, there sat the theme’s defaults. This set me back a few, because I had just added a text widget of all of my links, and even though it hadn’t taken long, it would be frustrating to code them all again.

But still, I did so, and dragged it back into the sidebar, clicked save, the usual. But it still wasn’t showing up on the main page. Baffled, I clicked the title on my website, leading me to the /blog section of the website, rather than the overall index page… and on there, my sidebar looked fine. I hovered over the links and noticed that I had miscoded them slightly, and so I went back and edited them, and saved again. They still didn’t show on the index page, and the codes were still messed up on the blog directory. But I clicked a random link in the archive calendar, and everything was fine on that page. :S

It was at this point that I went to bed, and now, the day after, my widgets still aren’t showing on the index page, all of my widgets are showing except for the links ((correctly coded or not)) on the blog directory, and everything is fine once you follow the archive link. I’ve tried deleting my cookies and that didn’t work, I’ve tried resaving all of the widgets and that didn’t work, I don’t know what else to do. I don’t think it’s a wordpress problem, because they would have received some sort of complaint and fixed it eons ago… So it must be something I’m doing, but I have no idea what it is.

Ah well, I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually.

Anyway, it snowed again. 2010 seems to be a year of blizzards so far. Last night the snow was really heavy, as well, it started snowing at around four in the afternoon, and by ten past the edges of the road were covered – I went to bed at around one in the morning, and it hadn’t slowed down at all. It took my dad two hours to get home from work when it usually only takes him quarter of an hour. It saddens me though, that those nutters who still tried to get to work this morning have caused the road to clear a little. The edges are still full, but there are two reasonably sized tracks down the middle where the average tyre marks have been. I know it’s being greedy to want so much time off school, especially when other people have exams, but I’m just so much happier sat in my house. xD

I think I’m going to go and build another snowman with my nieces later. I think I mentioned the one from last week that was more of a mound than a snowman. Today we plan to make one that rivals the likes of Arnold Snowmanegger down the road. We’re going the whole hog, although I have no idea what the snowman will be called. Hmm…

I also finished New Moan – the Twilight parody. It was pretty hilarious. Best names in the book go to Joe Cahontas, Wanda Mensional and Winona Arizona. I think I’m going to finish Frankenstein and Dorian Gray next, seeing as I have to write an essay on them, after all. xD

Snow Days http://blueberry-bubble.net/blog/2010/01/09/snow-days/ http://blueberry-bubble.net/blog/2010/01/09/snow-days/#comments Sat, 09 Jan 2010 00:22:59 +0000 Administrator http://blueberry-bubble.net/blog/?p=7 Okay, so, if you live anywhere in the UK you’ll know we’ve had a lot of snow lately, and this resulted in a lot of schools having an extra week off after the holidays. So, like any normal person, I tried to make the most of it! =) The first day it snowed I had a Doctor’s appointment – nothing biggy – and so I had to wake up kind of early. My mother and I managed to miss our stop on the bus, and had to walk to the surgery. The snow began to fall at around this time, and it was super fun because new snow always causes excitement. xD It was so pretty.

We got home by around eleven, and my niece and sister in law came in for a cup of tea and a chat. I spent an hour or so afterwards playing with my niece with her plastic kitchen set… thing. Just after they left, our neighbour came in with a thank you present for my mother, and so he stayed a while as well. Busy morning! He wasn’t the last person in, either, after he left our other neighbour came in for a chat as well, and we mostly talked about the snow… Predictable, much?

The last person to visit us that day was a friend of the family – she moved to Australia a year ago and was home for Christmas, bringing her boyfriend with her. She had brought gifts as well, various Australian items, biscuits, a tea towel and things like that. We learnt a lot about her new home, it sounds like she loves it there. Personally, I don’t think I could handle living in Australia – too hot! I prefer cold weather, myself, because it’s easier to throw on a blanket than it is to cool down. =)

The day later my brother, sister in law and my other niece went to build a snowman. It was my niece’s first snowman ever. xD The snow was too powdery to stick very well, so we ended up with a mound on the floor with a face, but it was so hilarious – snowball fights and such.

Oh my, I just realised how boring this blog was. :/ I think I”m going to shut up now, but… I’ve updated it, at least?
